Name: Haisten
Age:22
Game moderator specialty: #1 Dota

Brief introduction:
As a brief introduction I would like to mention a few things. I am currently 22 year old and a rising senior at the University of Richmond. I used to be a dota moderator until I resigned for various reasons, one being the fact that I wasn't prepared for the various responsibilities. Over the last year or so, I would like to say I have matured quite a bit. When I was last a moderator I wasn't fully aware of what was expected and I regret my actions. As of now, I feel as if I am more equipped to handle this responsibility.

What are your current hours of playing time (approximate)? I usually play for, at least, 2 hours a day. More often than not it leads to being well over 5 hours a day. It's the summer time and my jobs are very flexible. I often read the forums and comment/help of things during those times.

What is your current time zone? The eastern time zone. USeast.

Describe any relevant experience, both in moderating and in Warcraft III: Well, as I mentioned above, I am an ex-moderator for this very community. I have been a WC3 player for several years and I know quite a bit about it. I am primarily a DotA player, but I do try to learn other games, like Legion TD. During my time as a moderator I handled a lot of requests and appeals and offered what I thought to be the most correct form of action. I also sought advice when I was unsure of how to handle a situation. If you check my history (I can also edit the post and add requests I have handled), I have dealt with pretty much every kind of ban request/appeal. I am also a frequenter on the dota forums, suggestions, and complaints. I want nothing more than to help better this community.

Why do you want to become a game moderator? When I first applied to be a moderator I was all about helping and making sure peoples needs were met and handled properly. Now, this same attitude resonates, but I am much more focused on the adherence to the ENT rules. I have been in many games over the few months, well over a hundred, and I am very tired of dealing with people who abuse and destroy this game. I very much enjoy my time playing WC3, and I am not a fan of it being ruined. Almost daily I check the current ban requests and I get so frustrated that people are still having to submit ban requests for fountain farming, votekick abuse, game ruining and even map hacking. Of course I know all of these things still exist, but at some point, people either need to learn or suffer a variety of punishment that teaches them a lesson. My main goal of a moderator would be to make sure the players are heard and that the time they take to support the ENT community does not go to waste. I always make a great effort to thank people for their contributions. Another point of becoming a moderator would be to help handle the overwhelming amount of requests and issues that ENT is dealing with. Last time I checked the ban request section I noticed over 30 pending issues, half of which I could have handled by simply watching a replay.

What will you bring to the ENT/Warcraft III community? Throughout my life I have suffered numerous tragedies and many short comings, and with each bad experience has come a lesson that I have learned. The most important belief I foster is a strong moral code. I believe that justice is what separates people from the animals and helps us manage who we are while we try to maintain peace and a civil society. I strongly condone doing the right thing and adhering to rules. I also believe that I would bring a great deal of knowledge to the community as far as gameplay and respect is concerned. I know I may have a reputation for being a rager and whatnot, but I have done a great deal to change that. And to be honest, a majority of the rage that people have to deal with from me comes from something I strongly believe is wrong and needs attention. I get frustrated when people do not get what they deserve, being both bad and good. There are so many people that rely daily on what ENT provides and as a moderator, it is/would be our job to the best we can to support them like they do us.

Closing Statement: As a closing statement I would simply like to thank you guys, the moderators, the admin, the players and the community for everything you do. Without ENT and dota, some days in life would be rather bland and uneventful, but since this community exists, there is a place to have fun and enjoy playing games with people who also have similar interests. I feel as if I would do a much better job than I did previously and I would very much appreciate a chance to once again be a member of your staff and help maintain this community. I enjoy being involved with ENT and I would love to take my interactions to the next level and really help you guys help the players. Thank you for your time and I await the various questions/concerns that accompany a staff application.

Only 3 months ago you insulted our staff team. Now you want to be a part of it again?

I'm open to giving him a shot, everyone deserves a second chance. Now keep in mind he'd be on thin ice for the first month or two should he be accepted. As it stands we could use more mods doing ban requests, between my real-life responsibilities as well as the ban requests starting to pile up, we could use another mod to help keep them leveled out. (I have the day off today)

I wasn't even mature enough to handle a minimum wage job at one point, I was a rager and now I have two jobs/go to school full time. He obviously knows the mechanics of dota and can be an asset to the forums, I just ask that you control your anger man. As angry of a guy as I am, I know when and where to control it.

To sum up a long drawn out point, you have my support but you need to control your anger. @DK, I don't care if he insulted us I'm not going to hold that over his head but I do care if his anger flares up in games or on the forums. If I support you then you have to promise to keep it contained.

@DK, in my mind, three months is a long time and people can change in that window. The people I mainly disagreed with, nutz and virus hunter, are no longer here. I was tired of virus's extreme favoritism and nutz's reluctance to read what people were saying instead of biting heads off. Those feuds are long gone, and as I stated, a majority of my past rage stemmed from people getting away with things that are clearly against policy and moral standing.

@Karasu. I strongly agree with the thin part. I would use the word probationary. I have no interest in coming to this community to cause problems, I just want to help serve the people that support ENT, as well as take some of the pressure off you guys. I see a lot of requests that could use some handling and I have a lot of free time on my hands. Therefore, I have no desire for drama, I just want to help. If given the chance, I will not be the same disappointment I may have been before.

Don't worry, there are new people from BGN to piss you off.

What I understand from your application is that you are a literate person who has a good understanding of DotA and how this specific community functions. As Karasu mentioned, another active moderator can't hurt as long as the "anger problems" mentioned can be suppressed.

He knows he has done wrong in the past, admits it, and from what I can tell, has learned from it. He understands the circumstances and has presented well thought out reasoning for his eligibility to return to the staff. No reason not to pass along some friendly support.

I am not on the team because I sent cyberpunk and uak a message telling them I was resigning. This happened a few months ago. I was not ready for the position and I believe I am now.

Edit: I thought it would be best that I was no longer a part of the team at that time. I have acknowledged my mistakes and learned from them and I believe that I am better equipped to be a part of this staff.

Edit2: Thank you timmy, I know you don't know me well, if at all, but I appreciate the support.

I say give him a second shot. Anyone can always learn from mistakes and he seems very eager to help. We can always remove him if he does anything bad. Give him a try like what karasu. said. He has my support.

Thank you for your support, is there anything else I need to do or am missing? I'm still trying to be very active on the forums, I read most of them every day and comment when I think I can help.

And to better clarify who I was mentioning when I made that comment. I was mainly referring to nz.death, and nutz, both of which are no longer on the staff. I also greatly disagreed with virus.hunter, who is also no longer a staff member. Of the remaining community, I have no issues with them nor do I plan to have any. And thanks naruto, I appreciate the support.

Why do you want it to be deleted?
