Hey All,
I have seen in the past where someone fails to input the game mode when the default is supposed to be -phgmcb (or -hpgmcb prophet). Is it possible to get a rule instituted where in the even of failing to announce mode and choosing -AP, missing mode selection, or making a mistake (typing -zoom X before mode, etc.) that all players have to pick prophet themselves (unless alternative mode was announced in lobby)?
Personally, I do not see any reason not to make this a rule seeing as in the past, we have had instances where the bot was glitching causing every game to be -AP regardless of what you entered and I have also seen instances where someone tries to force a draw by leaving mode blank or choosing -AP (I know they could also go hybrid instead to make it worse). It would also reduce the number of ban requests surrounding people who actually made a mistake with the mode (has happened to me where I entered -zoom X before the mode causing it to choose -AP) or was AFK for the first 10 seconds and nobody ended up pausing.
Any feedback/thoughts is welcome. If this has been posted before, feel free to let me know as well but I did not find anything with a quick search/glance.

Re: Accidental -AP rules
As far as choosing prophet goes, I feel that it shouldn't matter. If you choose a different builder, I.E. as I picked Paladin in one game, the only advantage I get that anyone else could, is that I could force lumber harder.
Everyone has an equal opportunity and there isn't a true advantage that isn't available to everyone. ^^

@owl The issue is that I imagine most people would choose stronger races and/or with better yolo. Like you mentioned, you picked paladin because it is advantageous and archers are considered OP. Some people also get REALLY upset when this happens so it may also reduce toxicity in-game and force less draws (basically change the: "#%@$@!# you scrub" to "zzz okay, prophet".

While this is true, it's not like no one else can pick unlike in DotA (irrelevant), that being said, anyone can pick archer, or demi, or any race that promotes good yolos. So it's not a question of advantages/disadvantages, so not truly a game ruining ban.
I doubt that toxicity would be leveled as the failure to put in proper mode without an announcement is where it stems from, regardless of if someone picks prophet. Someone trying to force a draw will happen regardless, in many cases. So I for now remain !against in this case, as it seems to be just an issue of rage against the red player, etc.

This is a suggestion. Ill leave it here for few days though.
Dont see the point of making a backup rule for a fail or rule break already.
Those who intentionally/unintentionally pick other builders aside prophet are not at fault. Also, all have the choice to pick w.e. Thus, why it is called "all pick" mode. All races are playable, so no issue either.
Better to just set hcl as phgmcb. It may work this time since autoselection once mode is initiated got removed.

I think that hcl would be a good thing to do as it would remove the issue overall.

That is on the players. It literally takes 1 sec to click wisp to get the warr. I have been able to get warrs for level 1 or furb for 2 with no issue.

^ regarding hlc
As for the rule suggestion, I think only red should be held accountable for breaking rules.
I see many ways how this rule could bring alot of confusion for players. Besides, what happens if red chooses AP (not a mistake) and picks Human (archer) race. Everyone else should have to pick prophet? That would be a disadvantage.
I like rules/mode selection (no hlc) how they are atm. Don't witness too many times where people enter wrong mode (without announcing), so I don't think it is really a problem atm.

@broud3r
You are right, however, since the autoselection has been removed, perhaps people will have enough time to warrior? Will need to test and see.

Playing a lot on UcW recently and i use a lot of !hcl there. It definitly leaves you enough time for warriors, but it is insanely close and you have to get the wisp literally the second it is available. If you're 1 second too late you can't warrior, because you get the 120 lumber when lvl 1 has already started to spawn. However, it will make sending furb 2 for towers like Prisoner/Phantom less likely, which sucks.
