If you want to host a server or something, a VPS could be useful for you. It stands for virtual private server, and basically allows you to run software in a virtualized environment.

Anyways, if you want a free VPS, then you should definitely check out Post2VPS. We're running a few of our bots on that VPS to distribute the CPU usage load, and despite being free they are very good. You do need to make a few posts to get your free VPS (thus the name), but just be active on their forums and you will be able to host a server.

There's lots of things you can host, including a website, game server (not just Warcraft III, also Minecraft and stuff), mail server (so you can use your own email instead of free webmail), etc. Anyways it's pretty cool!

I do not believe reviving an old topic in this forum matters since it's a news forum. However, to answer your question, I've used some free vps before, and they were good. So, I assume that one will be good as well.

No, we're not using it right now and never used this one, it sucks
There was another one we used to use that was a trial, but I don't think the trial is available anymore, and anyway it's just for two weeks or something.
