New command

Postby suckmyclick » Sun Jun 01, 2014 6:26 pm

How about we implement a command like !kd or !kills or something kind of like the command !scores, but instead of showing elo, it'll show everybody's kd ratios. The command !scores helps out a lot to get a general idea of who ur teammates and enemies are, but sometimes people make smurf accounts that have 1 game played so they have like 1015 elo, but have a 4:1 kd and they are pro. The scores command makes you think they are just an average player that has 1k elo, but really they are pros in disguise! what are your opinions with the !kd command?

You can check kills on the stats pages or via !sd command. You can play autobalanced games if you want to minimize chance of stacking.

well my argument to autobalanced game is this: if people smurf and make new accounts. they could only have 2 or 3 games played which would make them around 1030 or 1045 elo but they might have 5:1 kd's. obviously we can sd every player in the game but that takes too long and that is why we made the !scores command. For the same reason we made the !scores command we need a !kd command so we dont have to sd every single person like we used to do back when !scores wasnt available. and plus, nobody ever plays autobalanced games haha

That is true.

Good kd does not mean they r good though :)
Isnt !score, then !sd 1 or 2 ppl good enough to generalize whether ur team is ok or not?

well i just think the players of ent will enjoy this new command. and ive tried typing !sd 1 or !sd 2 but it doesnt work. you have to type there name or a partial name.and sometimes people have weird names like lILIL1|| or troll names like that and i can never figure out if there name has an l or i or | or 1 or crap like that and it takes forever to sd them. it would be easier to just throw in another command like !kd

Elo is our general player rating system. I do not think we need another player rating command whether or not elo rating is questionable. Stats are suppose to only represent the general skill of a player anyway.

I do, however, think that implementing !sd 1 !sd 2 where !sd command corresponds to slot numbers is quite convenient. I believe dota void uses this system.

yeah i think the sd # would help out a lot. but why not give out the !kd a test trial too? is there any reason putting that command in would be a problem?

Many people want to remove !scores. So I don't see a point of adding yet another command for that.

really people want to get rid of !scores?? i love the command and everybody i ask loves it too. i think the only people who dont like it are the ones well below 1k elo and they are shy about there stats haha. well can we start a poll or something for the !kd command?

It is because some people are too conscious of elo and immediately judge others' skill lvl by elo instead of playing it out. Also, it is true that people stack easier with the !score command. As you mentioned, it can be cumbersome to !sd everyone. So if no !score, there would be more people who are lazy to check stats and just play the dam game =]

yeah i am all for people not stacking and spamming !scores and sd'ing everybody, but it sucks when u join a game and ur the 10th person to join and dont have time to sd everybody and you find out its a 1400 vs 900 elo game and your team goes 2-30 kill wise haha. so having !kd and !scores will help start more even games rather than stacked no fun games
