this is a damn good idea

It works like this in civ wars and it's effective.

Just pretend !ff command doesn't exist so you never forfeit.

@uakf.b like how civ wars !ff works... Can we have an expiry time for !ff? Quite a few mods also agree the idea: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=27003

Just don't use it if you think you'll cancel.

I usually agree with your stance regarding these issues uak and I initially agreed with you, but there are no benefits to not having ff expire after 2 minutes. The downside to no expiry is that if the game continues sometimes that 5% of winning can turn to 60%. It's easy to say 'well don't ff then' but if a player wishes to forfeit he should be able to.

You can't always know if you think you'll cancel. Sometimes a game will look really terrible and people will try to ff at 10 or something, and then it will get turned around later. It would be better if ff was not used in anger, but that isn't always possible; when it comes to pub games, commands like that will always be used in anger.

Don't use it then.

Also if game turns around then only case where you would ff is if someone else on the team decides to forfeit? Or I guess if they leave; but I think you have to type !ff again if someone leaves before it'll count it as forfeit.

Or the final ally can use it to troll or threaten you with it... "Let me get aegis or I'm ffing" - this works especially when he's on a smurf or just doesn't care about ELO.

Just because a team foolishly forfeits out of anger doesn't mean they deserve to be trolled and essentially have the game thrown. And I have seen this happen before.

Gotta admit it's a long thread and I did not read the last 60% of it BUT imo. I think !forfeit is a SERIOUS command that should ONLY be used when you have NO HOPE and you agree to what follows
In the game you refer to they clearly gave up but somehow regained their hope later on - this is clearly the teammates making a MISTAKE forfeiting early and also a mistake for the last guy to forfeit in the end so forfeit should only be used when you have no hope for the rest of the game no matter how it turns out
Also it can very much be abused if there is a expire time/unforfeit command
People should realise this is a serious command and I bet the players in that game will never try to forfeit again without realising what consequences there could be

Bottom line - the current forfeit command can't be abused unless someone makes fail judgements and if you implement !unforfeit/expire command it could be used to trick the other team to thinking you gave up and become careless -> TURN?

Solution: Make the forfeit command invisible to the other team until it passes - also add an expire timer (my mind came to the conclusion this would solve the problem)

I honestly think this is a Great Idea. Why? Because shouldn't we support more VARIETY in games that involves a WIDE VARIETY of players? Sounds unconvincing, but trust me; when you change your mind and set it to WIN. You want to Undue that !ff.

Lets dig this to the root.

What does !ff mean:

1)"I give up". Therefore, "I will not play no more". = this is a statement. This definition is for people who have actually given up hands down and for ragers and trollers we see often in brqs - ffing "individually". Often in this case, only one person gives up ruining the game.

Question: if this is how we define "!ff" command's intentions to be, should we ban people who afk at fountain and later get afk kicked?

2)"I vote to give up" or "I want to give up" = this is a vote, an opinion.

This is another definition. Quite a few people treat !ff as a vote like !draw or !votekick.
Most of our games are team based games. When forfeiting, we are trying to forfeit as a team (definition #2), which is why we vote to forfeit requiring every ally member's ff vote for the game to be forfeited. Therefore, since its a vote...there should b some type of vote cancellation possibility.

To me personally; I believe !ff is a statement with FEELINGS in it saying "Oh I don't think we're going to win and I want to give up." So there should be an !unff in this LoD Ver. so that when they see the ENVIRONMENT or SCENARIOS becoming BETTER or FAVORABLE they can type !unff Which is a statement with FEELINGS saying "I don't want to give up YET, and I want to play to WIN." I think this post helps alot of viewers here make up their mind, if not; POST YOUR THOUGHTS ENT COMMUNITY.

I really can't see the disadvantage to this. If people might spam it, make it so that you can't !ff again until 5 minutes after you !unff.

Can we get something in place please? I actually had a case of ff "abuse".

The game was around 24 elo with three persons with like 0.25 kdr type of deal. We are getting crushed, most ff but not all. One person even afks out but I actually get a mille rax and want to play this out now, as the game had already continued on, and I don't think they even raxed yet.At this point either the last person ff or that was the afk and some one reset the ff.

Surprisingly our chances to win increased quite a bit, I would have liked to know how it would turned out.
