school and similar stuff

Postby -lothlorien » Mon Jan 27, 2014 11:40 am

Hi everyone,

since some of us are having a hard time with the trade off "to play one more game" or to "finally start learning for the last exam of the semester"..I thought we could try to combine the relaxing part with the less relaxing one. Maybe we could have a part on the forum where people can ask questions regarding school (like copying a task and asking for an explantation) ... Since people here hopefully do not feel stressed.. maybe it would be helpful..
not that I need something atm  just a thought. and speaking of a new forum part.. we could have a corner where people can go if they need a medical advice. like now that it is so cold.. and people have some signs of health issues ..they could post it on this part of the forum and the rest of the community determines what is wrong with that person. (second part ist just a jooooke, dont kill me  )

or the "science fiction" could serve just fine.. you could put the "fiction" in bracket ..( or not, I am sure for some school stuff is fiction :P )

maybe forget all about it..I am not sure if this is a usefull idea..guess this is just the procrastination in me making up stuff  :D

ENTGAMING-> what do u think this suggests?

If you want to discuss non gaming stuff....there is already offtopic section.

If u really care about ur health or is concerned for ur schoolwork and need advice...here is not the place to ask for questions. There are many direct places to call or search on the net including forums (not gaming one lol) where u can access information more effectively.

Lastly, if your objective is to get better marks....simply study more. Thinking about tradeoffs between school and game isnt very healthy.

Plz...think b4 u post. I consider this thread a spam =[

1.the health thing was a lame joke.. that came to my mind since my pupils whom i give private lessons sometimes ask me for medical advice (thinking as their private teacher i know everything  :) )

2. entgaming... yes, sherlock. but like you said: there are alreay stuff besides gaming. So obviously all things do not have to be connected to gaming (like the section anime for instant ;) )

3. i remember reading lately a post where someone asked if it is possible to play dota 2 with ent (or something similar) since he liked the ent community (or so). Another one said on this topic and other people elsewhere that dota1 or battlenet (w/e) is "an endangered species"..

considering all this I thought it wouldnt be bad to give people room for discussing stuff that is usefull too.

From experience I know that pupils learn so much better when the stuff is explained by someone who can see through their perspective. Like somene who is not much older..uses vivid examples and can relate much better to their lifes.

you are probably right after all..but it is not that I did not give it a thought.

Jokes? This section is for suggestions to improve community.
Jokes -> considered spam.

I didnt say the act of guidance/teaching/advising is bad.
My point was ur looking for help at the wrong place.

U said u thought about it deeply. My 2nd point was u didnt think "deeply" enough before u posted.
If u know the general player base's age and maturity of this community, u wouldnt be suggesting this.

If u got time to joke and think deeply to post a thread such as this, I think it would be more effective for u to work on ur troubled school work with ur available time. No offense. Just trying to advise.

So yes, I do believe i am right after all.

1. I did not say i need help.
2, I did not say i thought deeply.
3. some players I know are between 14-19
4. older players that study can help each other too.

and back to 1. Maybe it was my fault that you keep thinkin this. Something like this was the train of my thoughts before I posted this..

-I should start to repeat some things for the exam.
-I could play a game since i am a little unfocused cuz of work and ent relaxes me
-am I the only one who tries to win myself over for a game ?
-is it impossible to combine business with pleasure?
-not really, but a corner where people can ask stuff could be usefull.. (bla bla blaa)

and finally I read "Have an idea or feature that you think could benefit the community? Share it with us here!"

in the end ofc you may be right : )

I know many gaming forums which have a "homeworks" section where ppl are actually helping each other when needed, dunno why you are so angry nabo :p
Is it needed? Probably not. Might it be helpful? Perhaps.

My friend, there is always wikipedia and Yahoo answers. As supersexyy suggested as well you can post in the off topic or just come into chat and feel free to ask a question and talk. Other than that, study.

-Yondaime a 2nd year university student who has tried it before, it does not work so don't rely on it. Overall what I am getting at is play less and save it for the summer.

thanks, you are the only one who got my idea:) and I thought i imagined that nabo's reply was unnecessarily "rude" :P (u can read minds, admit it :P )

super and yondaime, thx too for trying to help...but to say it once more. I do not need help. On the contrary. ;) I was kind of offering it.
I know from exp. that wikipedia does not really help those who actually need it. facts are right, but sometimes it helps to know why is something the way it is..in simple words.

nevermind, was just a thought. But now that read some topics here I realised that I was wrong anyway.. the suggestion for improvment are meant to be for games and not the forum.

As I stated, there is offtopic section. But I doubt u'll get the effective help u or others need.

U are suggesting to make a new section with homework/schoolwork w/e...and as I stated before....this is a gaming forum and as much as u r free to do w/e u want...the purpose of ur thread or ur section which u may post in the future wont help u or others much.

When I said "deeply" i stated as an emphasis or sarcasm however u wanna take it... since u did state that u gave some thought before posting as a reply to my post.

Yondaime wrote:My friend, there is always wikipedia and Yahoo answers.

This is more ideal to do...no? What u want is a place where u can ask others...and they will answer fast in due time and give u reliable answers to ur questions... ENT forum is not the place.

Again...give it some more thought.

Edit: oh u did conclude that this wont work well. Cool. GL HF

This is a great suggestion, I wouldn't use it myself, but I'm sure there are alot of players here that would benefit from it.

I can't tell if this nabo guy is joking or retarded. I'd guess the latter.
I think the suggestion regarding medical conditions is great. This flamerkid could ask for advices on how to deal with real life. :D Also, that using bad words on a forum is kinda lame.
