I'm cool with 70 days stats reset policy for any game at Ent. What I'm not cool with is Ent giving freebees by giving top players a chance to play any custom game to keep their "stats/acc" active. Not only this create deviations(elo wise) when top players don't play a certain category game for a long time, but it also isn't fair to the community itself in general.
What I'm suggesting is: Make players play a certain category game that they maybe good at once every 70 days to make games more interesting. For example, if a player is good at ltd or dota and they represent themselves in top players list, then regardless of any situations they must play a ltd or dota game within 70 days to keep the particular games' stats active.
I really hope this gets looked at since Ent is all about stats and hope this creates more "fairness" in terms of the elo system. Thanks for reading.

Re: Stats deviation
Ok,
How will one dota game every 70 days change my stats?
How will one dota game every 70 days have to do with fairness?
How is fairness related to stats? Stats is a mathematical system....u either gain or lose depending on difference of avg elo comparison...=is this not a fair mathematical up and down for EVERYONE?
If you want to get on top list...just win more games? Simple.
Conclusion: U r all about stats, not ENT.

Re: Stats deviation
The automatic stat reset is in place to protect the integrity of the account to which in belongs. You may or may not be aware of this but on battle.net, accounts that are inactive for 3 months are automatically purged which means that the account can be "stolen".
Oh and by the way. I don't know what makes you think ENT is all about the stats. In my opinion stats are only there to add a competitive nature to the game.

Re: Stats deviation
It seems like none of you get my point. My suggestion was to make the players play same game they are good at once 70 days because I'm pretty sure not all top players play the particular games(the one's they are good/top at) since they just want to hold on to the spot where they are at.
Ent giving a chance to play any custom games to keep stats active; in my mind is definitely a freebee. You can keep account active by playing the same category game, doesn't have to be different. Which is why it's unfair because the "top" players can be there forever due to them getting to play any game and not worry about touching the stats for the games they are good at....
Ent is about stats, since its games are integrated with an elo system. Why have the top players list if Ent is not all about stats?? I like stats and stats is the only reason why Ent is so active on Wc3. Not only it has a purpose to gaming, but like Dreath said it makes things more competitive.

Re: Stats deviation
All can read and see what u r suggesting. U obviously didnt answer my question though. How is it unfair for community? I have seen the top list change quite a lot during the past 6 months for dota???????? Some got deleted due to inactivity, some keep playing, some smurf, some got bumped down to top 20. Why cant you achieve 2400 elo in your game specialty and bump down whomever is on the top list?boo wrote:I'm cool with 70 days stats reset policy for any game at Ent. Do you know what "fair" means? You say there is a problem of "fairness"...Explain why both parties, top list vs others, face an unequal condition.boo wrote:I really hope this gets looked at since Ent is all about stats and hope this creates more "fairness" in terms of the elo system. Lastly, since u care so much about elo stats system.... if u really want to talk about unfairness of the stats system...its unfair for high elo people to play games vs low elo when thinking about solely on stats factor. Why? You should think about it.

Re: Stats deviation
ELO is meant as a skill measure, not a score measure. We currently do not have a score measure, since a score measure wouldn't make sense without autobalanced games.
