sometime ago i post this on BGN, so i am going to repost on this topic,
hypothetically if a minion goes to a base, and the player controlling it type in -obs,therefore the minion dies.
When the player -obs, the unit is main titan's unit, so the player could not have "suicide" the minion since it is not control by the player. Is it bannable?
a hypothetical situation

Re: a hypothetical situation
Yes. However, it depends on how far from the base away the user types -obs.
If you do it in middle, obv not.

Can be filed under intentional game ruining or suicide - 3 day ban.

"suiciding on purpose"
Your purpose: go to the base, go obs and let your mini die -> suicide

go obs and let your mini die
it is not your unit
when u obs, u relinquish your ownership of the minion , how can it be your minion?

I am already tired of this and I seriously don't get how an ex-moderator has such a low level of understanding basic rules.

Re: a hypothetical situation
No need to be overly pedantic, your purpose was to get the minion killed. Your intention is to ruin the game for the titan by feeding 45g and having him lose a minion. This is both classed as intentional suiciding a minion and intentional game ruining.
It is still classed intentional suicide, as long as your intention was to actually get your minion killed. You are merely debating the actual meaning of suicide, which is retarded, because essentially you're right, but we're not going to change the rules due to pedantry. Besides, as I said, it can also be classed as game ruining - 3 day ban, so it doesn't even matter.
Just be a good sport and you won't be banned, problem solved.

Re: a hypothetical situation
it is a hypothetical situation and it is meant to be open for discussion so it is not a complaint per se.

Re: a hypothetical situation
There isn't anything to discuss about.
Everything you are trying to achieve is talking about something what is completely senseless. Exactly the same as for debating about the pausing rule.

Re: a hypothetical situation
you ascertain it is senseless because you have the capacity to move my post?
My logic still stand, and you have yet to refute it.
A healthy discuss, is someone e.g burn to gave another point of view to this, not moving around some1 else post and THEN say it is pointless because you can't argue against it
In regard to another separate issue, "pausing game", you deem pausing one game as intentionally abusing it and has such damning effect that need a ban? how absurd

Re: a hypothetical situation
Setting up your minion to suicide and then go -obs right before or as it dies will always be considered suicide. It was your minion when you gave the order for it to die, whether you went -obs or not. No matter how many times you try to barney this up, it will always come down to being considered suicide.
Intentionally pausing the game is bannable in the sense that it disrupts gamestate.

i made an mistake here, let me correct it.
I never had an issue with how you handle abusing of pause and had never raise a issue about, i thought you were referring to saving the game.

it is dishonest for arty to move my post away. i by no mean advocate this action but for debate sake i am acting as instigator.
but when you obs, the unit is no longer your control and not yours, the state of action that minion is going to suicide , but it has not happen, when it does happen, the titan had assume ownership of minion therefore death of minion.
When you realize that by -obsing, you absolve of the ownership thereby diminishing the responsibility of minion's death.
This lead to a simplify argument, "you can't suicide what you don't own."
a simplify counter-argument is suicide by oblique intent, but it is very hard to prove by above reason, the actual situation can be pull of in a much more complex manner
