It's not much sportmanship, to forfeit, in a game like LTD, where ANYTHING can happen...

As every win should be earnt not given.

These should be every players mentality. Never give up! In a league full of "pros" (supposedly) why in the world would you want to give up? I played games where our team was supposed to win (90% chance), but yet we lost and also in games where our team was supposed to lose (90%) yet it didn't happen and we won. It won't always happen, but never give up and try to change the outcome of the game.

Explain your logic to chess players.

Explain your logic to all professional athletes that forfeiting is okay or to any professional gamer. Forfeit is not in their or their coaches dictionary. Please make more of a valid response instead of 1 minor example.

Hate2Lose you forget though that a lot of athletes sometimes choose to not run on all their possible races or events, that is a form of forfetting, in order to focus on some more important races, or new tournaments even that they can be better prepared. Also there is a form of forfeitting on long distance races ( especially marathon ) where is not possible for all runners to even finish.

Sometimes forfeitting is a noble thing to do, while some other times it could even be a "disgrace" , this should be a case to case scenario and not generalising.

So for this case, I have seen a lot of games ending with the underdogs winning and I would be against a !ff function. However I do believe that if there is a disconnect and a team agrees they should be able ( on this kind of cases only ) to teamkill themselves together.

Professional athletes obviously have the option to forfeit... whether they choose to forfeit is a completely different thing.

If the whole team agrees the forfeit then they should be able to, I don't see what the problem is? If you don't want to forfeit then don't forfeit!

I'm mainly talking about professional sports athletes. Perhaps they have the option to forfeit, but they never will forfeit nor will their coaches allow them to. Granted they are getting paid a lot of money to play, they will play it to the end. Even if they are down and know they will lose, they still play it out. Granted the star players might not be playing.
Even if this rule passes, I'm giving everyone a heads-up I will NEVER forfeit. (although I don't play as much anymore  )

IMO, the problem is if you allow the forfeit ability some players might not play as hard or will want to give up. Especially if all 3 teammates want to forfeit besides me.

Exactly. If I would know that everyone in this league would be mature/fair enough to use the forfeit function 100% right (always giving the best, not moaning about others not forfeiting, only using it if everyone in the team really wants to forfeit) I would have no problem with it being implemented. But I sadly don't think it would work that way. There would be for sure some players that want to force others to forfeit in one way or another. Be it by being absolutely negative in a game and destroying all fun, by playing poorly on purpose or by putting pressure on them to to give up already. It would lead to less fun and bad sportsmanship in some games or even in the community as a whole.

I vote !yes. If all people want to, it should obviously be allowed. It's not pro, but wtv.

Also, LTD is also all based off what we do. Chess has been around 800 years and doesn't use any advanced machinery, but that doesn't alter it's playstyle. The number of moves in LTD is quite obviously higher then chess, although many are insignificant moves.

In the 2000 games that I have played I cannot think of a circumstance where !forfeit would have been appropriate. There is ALWAYS a hail mary to be thrown. (i.e. - "We will lose on lvl 27 so lets send on lvl 26") - why not give it a shot? You never know what could happen! :D

just sayin'

This poll is closing soon. FF will NOT be implemented with a 12/10 vote. We need a "signifiacnt majority" to approve any major changes in the game that are not solely up to the moderators to vote on.

Thanks again for the topic and all your votes!

Why isn't there an option to change your vote?
