Rule question

Postby Akitos » Thu Nov 05, 2015 1:27 am

The rule in question is this one: Do not intentionally split towers to delay leaking on a level you have sent.

The way i always understood this rule was that when your team is sending on 17 u're not allowed to split on 17, but now some guy on my game told me that splitting for DD is not allowed, that a friend of him got banned for that and that he actually discussed it with mods and got confirmation. So the way he says the rule is meant is that when you send 17 you're not allowed to split on 16; which interpretion is correct? I'm pretty damn sure that mine is, because his interpretation doesn't make fucking sense since it was always common to split to enable DD.

Wtf r u saying bro? :O I'm confused. I just asked wether or not it's allowed to split 16 to DD on 17.

EDIT - Just read your edit, now it makes even less sense xD You sure you didn't mean to say "can't" split?

The rule needs to be updated because it is worded incorrectly.

The intention was that you can split 16 if you send 17 but that is not what the rule says.

You sure you're getting this right m8? Because as i read it that's exactly what the rule says. "...on a level you have sent" refers to the level your units will be sent to the opposing team. The way you put it right now it would refer to the level you've sent the unit as in clicking on the icon to spawn the unit in the sending pit, but that can't be, because then both 16 and 17 would be "levels you have sent", and since the rule refers to a level instead of levels i'm pretty sure it's talking about the level the units are actually sent to the opposing team. This means that if your team is sending 17 the "level you have sent" is 17, although they were summoned during 16 & 17, which would mean that you're not allowed to split on 17; you are however allowed to split on 16, because that's not the level you have sent. So yeah, if the intension behind the rule is that you're not allowed to split on 17 when you're sending 17 then the wording is actually correct.

My apologies. You're completely correct and he is wrong. I misread the rule that you linked :D

@Akitos
If you send 17, you MUSTNT split 17. You are allowed to split 16 for dd 17. (This applies for all lvls! ... So you cant split 15 if you send 15 and so on).
The wording is totaly correct, and i cant understand why people dont get it in the right way :)
Asfaik the mod who mad the decision to ban your mate was Stiff_Maistar? If yes, we already talked with him and it seems like he knows the right meaning now.

@Akitos

For Mega/Beta bots, there are no rules regarding splits/delays.

For 1200+, the rules read as follows:

Code: Select all

Do not build over 120 value of delay towers.
Do not intentionally split towers to delay leaking on a level you have sent.

Regarding splits, you may split on all levels except those that you send.

Let's assume your team sends on level 17... you may split on any level your team does not send (12,13,14,15,16). Before level 17 creeps spawn, you must sell your splits. Take note that you may still have a corner delay up to 120 value.

Now assume your team sends on level 15... you may split on 12,13,14, but before level 15 creeps spawn, sell the splits.

If you need further clarification let me know. Hope this helped! :D

By the way, your friend should not have received a ban if he split on level 16 for DD on 17, as he did not violate any rules.

This was already answered and in case you haven't understood: it was clear to me at all times... I was just confused because of what this guy said and i wanted to see if he was telling the truth ;) Also if you had read carefully you would know that it was not my friend who got banned.
