New Mod in Dota - Suggestions and interest

Hi guys, i m making this new thread about helping the current mods of Dota ( @iambackk @Unitil @mattybatty )
by considering having at least one more active player/mod to help the forum and the community.
Of course first of all its up to the current mods if they want another person to help them.

The work ifck and the other guys are doing here is great in my opinion but he has a lot to carry about (just like in dota  ) for all those requests coming everyday, like banning, appeals, replay viewing etc etc. You know the drill.

So as we discussed a little in this topic with mk4r32 Astros and Jazzy: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=148219&p=568394#

i ve decided to make it formal for all to see, discuss and say their opinions. Hope this is ok.

The first name to came along for me to suggest was no other than @mk4r32 cause he is the most active here, he also plays daily and knows everyone. The dodgers, the intentional ruiners, the mh'rs in the past, the new acc's, the haters etc and has the best knowledge on whats going on in games. Maybe, as he already said for himself, he is a little toxic to some players who consider as ruiners but when he looks at a request on Forum with a clear mind he doesnt think that way. After all when you are a mod you must be righteous.

The second one i would like to see coming back as player and moderator is @Astros. I know, there were some issues in the past with some people here but he, along with ifck could really do a nice work. And love to see them playing too. Both. And if Frank could come back too would be awesome.
I know some of you guys maybe for various reasons dont like him. Maybe he banned some of you in the past as a mod but its a nice opportunity to let the past behind us and restart ENT. As much as we can. Astros -not only him of course- can play a vital role in this in my opinion. I like that ifck gives 2nd chances when its about an appeal and i think Astros can do the same and give some instructions to someone to become slitghly better if he ruins (like the known people here i dont write their names tryin not to insult anyone). Not just a ban. Ofc when some doesnt care he will get his ban like always.

Some other players i was thniking of were @EdteOfChaos2 @Hunter91 @Mr_Nimbuss @Plsbanruiners @MIKEJONES forgive me if i forgot someone.
I m just dropping some names here i think they could help the forum as mods/players i would like to hear your proposals and suggestions too.

As i said, i know many will disagree, mainly cause of the past and thats ok but i think we have a chance to turn things better on ENT. We dont have the luxury to lose good-average-or bad players -at certain games- players. We are no more than 30-40 people left many with new acc's.
So, any active player/ mod would help a lot.

I hope the main moderators will have no problem with this thread.

I wouldn't ever want to be a mod again, and they definitely wouldn't make me one. I called out too many people in the staff department. And I would do it again too. The really bad ones haven't been online for years but still too many people angry at me,

Hunter91 was a mod too in the past, not sure if he would want it again. But if he does, he's an obvious choice. Astros too but he's made too many staff members upset as well I think.

Frank and kunkka would be the most trustworthy mods imo, but I don't even know if they play anymore under the current situation ENT is in.

(Also it's probably too late to reverse the decline in players if we're being honest)

Well if you disagree with some of the staff doesnt mean you wont be a good mod. Past is past. Thats why i was referring to the future. To be able to make a new start now we know each other better. I m glad that you mentioned those players. Lets see what their opinions is all about and ofc the current sfaff opinion. My personal opinion is that you are suitable for this position but you know better.

The suggestions are good but the majority just won't do it. Some for obvious reasons.

I think @iambackk is doing fine but he has not done much to stop the true ruiners such as bobby, planaria, and the Denmark dude who is bipolar and just starts destroying items and then two games later, starts begging to ban other players.

it wouldn't hurt to have another moderator. @Hunter91, @mk4r32, @snells would be good choices if they were willing.

It would honestly make a ton of sense to have all three of them moderate because that means more than likely, you might have a moderator in every game you play to get these ruiners to change their gameplay. All three do not have a malicious history and wouldn't abuse their role.

I don't want to shit on halo but he doesn't play the game actively so it's probably why he just doesn't understand what is happening. It essentially just leaves ifck and he comes around in spurts, bans them for a day or two, and then disappears. Just put 3 extra moderators in here and let them get rid of the idiots.

Yes two or three mods are better than one. I'm tryin to convience @mk432r and all the other players i mentioned. Including you. Its ok you cant agree with everyone here. What matters the most is to have a fair and nice game. Sure you cant avoid ruiners but if 70- 75% of the games are good and clear means mods are doing great job. Hope the guys mentioned above and here to agree. Also we can see that as a test. How it will work. I think we will be just fine. I wanna hear the opinion of the current staff too if possible.

This would play out nicely. I highly recommend @Mr_Nimbuss.

He fits the criteria we are looking for. Actively playing, well rounded knowledge of the game, and knows the history of dota players on this server.

Additionally, he understands the players' intentions in gameplay.

Astros is absolutely right - all the ones that he has banned multiple times and tamed over the period are still lurking doing the same shit every other game.

I can't say this enough - the game quality level always enhanced immediately when Astros was moderating/playing no matter who the ruiners were in that particular game.

I just wanna make it clear/reiterate here that this thread isn't intended to downplay nor disregard ifck's work. We are simply looking to have him get more help through another mod combined together.

Good suggestion on the roster. I think active in-game enforcement is what's currently lacking. I'll volunteer to focus on in game enforcement if the ENT staff feel its necessary....

Yes to more mods. Need just a little more accountability and enforcement on the bottom 25% of players. It is unfortunate though as the folks that will make the best mods (frank, astros, edge, etc.) will most likely not be available for a variety of reasons.

Yes to the names suggested. Think GodSaveTheQQs should definitely be thrown in for consideration if he hasn't already been.

Thanks for the thought mate but unfortunately im lacking xp in total. Nor do i have the full knowledge or the tools to become a mod. Nor do i play every day. Sometimes i play every day like now in Christmas sometimes not. Not much time. But anyway thanks again.
I think the names mentioned above should be more than enough. Lets give our support for Mike if most of us agree here.

He already made an official application in a new thread.

If Mike can start others may follow too!

I am not sure, also i wont have that much time during the next few weeks, maybe i will think about it mid February when i will have more time.

The tools wont even be a problem, they are easy to learn and use.

The Application of MIKEJONES looked good and him being mod now will help i think.
Congratulations

I don't think time would be an issue. Plenty of 'mods' here currently who aren't active. Just the presence of a mod being available in the game itself would prevent ruiners naturally.

Since you're a former moderator who is familiar with the system and are in good standing with the community, you'd be a good addition.
