Legion TD standalone?

I wonder, is there any standalone game in the making based on Legion TD?

It's a great game obviously, fascinating many players on many levels. As with all WC3 TFT games, the old game mechanics cause problems - speaking of leavers and of game modes, for example.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a game with (real) rejoin possibility, with skill-based matchmaking, with pre-set game modes (so that red cannot fuck it up)?
What other technical features would you love to see in Legion TD?
Technical issues aside, I think LTD is pretty good as it is, so I wouldn't want to change game mechanics. I also like the medieval fantasy look & feel of WC3 very much.

Is there anything in the making already?
I'm learning Unity3d - and might want to clone LTD to standalone.
What do you think? Have you heard of something, have you similar ideas?

Eta is afaik somewhere this year, at least the beta mb also release

From what I read on the site it looks like it will be more of a 1.6 remake than a better version of current legion

Well, Lisk created 1.6, and not the LTD we're playing right now. So it's very likely it'll have more of 1.6 than 3.41.

I started on 1.6 when a friend introduced me to it a few years ago as it is what he played via lan with some of our friends. I just doesn't have the same appeal as 3.41, I don't think I could play a version like it again after 3.41

Me neither, i hope Lisk and his team manage to make the game as competitive as 3.41 is.
