Replays of Good Aqua/Mutant games?

Postby tastay » Tue Jul 22, 2014 2:48 am

Can anyone link me to games where they do extremely well with aquas/mutants in pubs?

I have heard that Aquas/Mutants are best units to income early with however in my experience it never seems to be the case. I always seem to do significantly better with other units like nightmares/archers/turrets/panda bear/etc so just wanting to see any games where people showcase the power of aquas/mutants

mutants aren't as good as aquas, and are worse then archers/nightmares/turrets and probably equal to pandas.

it's a similar build to archers. 200 value aquas lvl 1, 300 lvl 2, 400 lvl 3 (if they sent alrdy you can go 350 with t1 or something), go 6/2 or so, up one aqua for lvl 5 to get 530 (you can 580 if u are nervous, altho you will be lower inc)(sell t1 if you made one), then go 7/2 and make few more aquas for 6 (or tank if u have one). holding 8 is ez.

Well I'm generally 7/2-3 after 4 so maybe that's my mistake since I am generally 350-450 value on 5 so maybe I am incoming too early too fast?

Exactly. In games with good players, leaking early is a bad idea, because then they know whether to send 5, 7 or 8. If you can take at least 5 out of the equation, then that is already a big help. Also you need to be able to recover. You shouldn't push more than 7/7 prior to 10, unless you clear 8 for your team and get many leaks. I played one aqua yolo yesterday. I had 7/7 at 10, we lost arena, so I stayed 7/7. I had ~1050 value, but about 150-200 income. I leaked pretty much all rounds 11-14, but each lvl not much, but 15+ I held. If we had won arena, I wouldn't have leaked at all. Around 20, you will have an income of above 400. My recovery units were 3 harlots as blockers, mass phantoms and 3 gryphs (for 20). Depends on you how much you want to push after you start holding again.

it depends on your other units. you can 7/2 easily, but if you 7/3 you'll have to be prepared to leak all lvls. same as if you were archers. maybe hold 8, leak bad 9...

archol wrote:Level 1: 2 prisoners(1 wisp)
Level 2: 3 prisoners (send a dino/furb before level 2 if you dont get 6 extra gold at level 1)
Level 3: 3 prisoners (and a weak tower in the front or back) if the enemy team all sent before or get 4 prisoners (push hard income now)
Level 4: 3 prisoners are enough so no need to build
Level 5: Up 1 prisoner to maverick, get 1 prisoner or get another unit whos good against 5 (aim for 7 wisp/2 harvesting rate (standard), depending if you leaked or got feed before so you can push more or less)

Thats the standard yolo of prisoners, most people tend to up prisoners, but it also depends on the towers you roll and your team. If your team contain not so good players, you should try to not leak too much and push afterwards

yeah i know the build itself roughly its all standard just want to see when people go huge

Archol described a typical prisi build but I want to emphasize the part where if you have towers which are good against 5 then making that is better than a maverick and makes the prisi build better.

also, if you are sure they send lvl 3, you don't have to OB lvl 2 with 3 prisoners.

That statement got me confused as you kinda need 3 prisoners for lvl 2 to be able to hold lvl 3 with sends unless you simply just want to hold on to the gold or build some other crappy tower and still the main goal is 4 prisoners for 3

I noticed that I suffer the most in my games where all 3 of my team mates are 1/0 and I get no king leaks 7 so I tend to get 100-200 more value for 7 than usual

Do you think if my team does not leak then I should force myself to leak? On lvls 5-6?

If you are yolo incoming a good rule is that if you do not leak on lvl 5 and 6 (and ofc. 7) you have not incomed enough
The perfect scenario is you leaking less than 5 units lvl 5 and 6, leak huge on lvl 7 and then hold/almost hold lvl 8 and 9
Yes you do loose some gold for leaking those units but you gain that back in lumbertime and especially if more than you on your team is 5/2 or higher it's worth leaking as you get more lumbertime = more sends = bigger chance that the opponent team leaks

Another food for thought is that if you choose to not leak lv 5 or 6 but push hard so you end up being something like 7/3 on lvl 7 your teammates will have to cover lvl 7 with the same gold as if they only had to hold 1 lane - so leaking some units on 5 and 6 is not a bad thing as this gives your teammates more gold to build for = less chance of leaking to king (leaking more than 5 units lvl 5 is fairly common as it is in general a harder lvl than lvl 6)

I recommend obsing/reviewing some LIHL games as these yolo strats are used in every single game and mostly there is 1 guy with minimum 1350 value holding for the team
