Concerning Dota 6.83D and the future of Warcraft 3 Dota

Hello,

Can you explain officially on your website what is going on with this sudden map change on your bots?
Everything happened so fast and you never gave us an official explanation.


I have a few questions and hopefully you can answer them and clarify this whole situation:

1) How were you able to obtain "modification rights" on the Dota map from Icefrog himself?
Usually when you want to modify anything on the original Dota map created by Icefrog, it will not let you do it.
Was this new map created from scratch or you obtained the modification rights from Icefrog?

2) Who is "DracoLich", is he part of your ENT staff?

3) Did Icefrog himself resign and say "DracoLich" is taking my spot from now on for the development of Warcraft 3 Dota?

4) From now on, will we be playing on your ENT bots the original map created by Icefrog or the version made by DracoLich?



As for me, there is a reason I did not choose to play Dota 2, it's because I love the Warcraft 3 version made by Icefrog with this old mechanisms.
Now what you are doing with this version is you are forcing us to play "Dota 2".
If the people playing on your ENT bots really wanted to play Dota 2, they would have done so simply by downloading the official DOTA 2 game.

This doesn't seem right to me.

We had a suggestion thread and dota thread for several days and an official announcement yesterday, I think.


I have a few questions and hopefully you can answer them and clarify this whole situation:

1) How were you able to obtain "modification rights" on the Dota map from Icefrog himself?
Usually when you want to modify anything on the original Dota map created by Icefrog, it will not let you do it.
Was this new map created from scratch or you obtained the modification rights from Icefrog?
We didn't obtain anything nor do we need any rights to host the map.

2) Who is "DracoLich", is he part of your ENT staff?
In the DotA section, there're some links. You will probably find more information there. Is he part of our staff? No.

3) Did Icefrog himself resign and say "DracoLich" is taking my spot from now on for the development of Warcraft 3 Dota?
Did icefrog resign from dota1? No, at least officially. Is Draco taking the official lead position? Who knows. Competition will show.

4) From now on, will we be playing on your ENT bots the original map created by Icefrog or the version made by DracoLich?
Ones Draco's is fixed, stable and balanced, it will be the next official version. You can still host the "old" map on our private hosting system.

Since when does Dota 1 have the Dota 2 graphics, huh? It merely takes the changes icefrog does to d2 and implements them to d1 cuz icefrog is either too lazy or doesn't care. If there wasn't dota 2, you would get the changes anyway in d1.

I don't think the fears are justified. Playing on Wc3 does _not_ mean having to play an outdated version.
