Alternate Risk Map

Hi!
I have a suggestion regarding your risk hosting. Can you make every other risk game be Risk Next Gen (Also known as world risk)? It would serve to give the risk games some variety, and something alternate to play than devo. It was creted by the RNG team, which also hosted devo. When they were still up, they used to alternate between the maps, sometimes hosting one and sometimes hosting the other. It worked really well and fans of both maps were happy with it. Risk Next Gen still has a big fanbase, and you would have no problems filling up games.

The settings for number of players until start and such would be the same as Risk Devo. The link on how to upload map to public hosting dosen't exist, so i could not do that. But, it was hosted regularly on a big site like RNG with thousands of players ranked there, which should give an indicatio as to it's popularity.

Also, here is a link to map: http://www.epicwar.com/maps/180240/

Hope we can see this great map here!

Yeah I have. But it takes longer to fill up, with both mine and devo being up, as both attracts the same people. Just thought this might be a good solution.

@TheZenMan Could you specify the currently hosted map and the map you wish to be hosted?

The currently hosted map is "Risk Devolution Reborn 2.3b", and the one i wish to be hosted is the one in the link above, it is called "Risk Next Gen 3.1".

All i see from the both of you is bitching.

Give me facts.

Point out why this map should be hosted. What is better, what is worse. What is more popular what is not. Give me proofs of these. Otherwise I will start giving out warnings/bans to the both of you for causing a flame war.

How about I start.

Answer these questions.

What makes Risk Next Gen 3.1 a better choice than Risk Devolution Reborn 2.3b? Give me facts. Not opinions. Glitch fixes, bug abuses, better tools, etc.

Is Next Gen 3.1 more popular than Devolution Reborn? Show me statistics.
402 [ENT] Risk Devolution # games in last week.
Show me how Next Gen is popular.

Both of the games system are very similliar, I even think that both were created by RNG, though im not sure. The real difference is the map layout. Risk Next Gen has a more open layout, where you can move more freely. In Risk Devolution, the setting is more closed, and mostly you are confined to your space. Now, this is only preference really, one is not really better than the other.

With regard to statistics, how do I do that? You had a webpage but it was empty when i tried to access it. Do I just host trough ENT? Also, how many games do I require?

As a sidenote, as I said before, I think that if the maps are alternated like they were by RNG it could work too.

Deleting my posts is all the evidence I need that I completely destroyed his argument. Thank you. I'll reiterate one last time: Risk Devolution is far more popular than Risk Next Gen. There is NO debate. Do your own research if you can't listen to sense.

I didn't delete your posts though. It was a mod, probably matdas.

I didn't say it was you.

RNG is different, and it was definitely interesting to try out, but I don't think it should alternate with Devo. I also don't think it would regularly fill. I know you like it, but please consider those points. It would be good to see every once in a while, but games are hard to fill as it is without this complicating things further. I'll say no more about it, my input isn't particularly appreciated anyway... See you in Risk.

Even seeing it once in a while will be better than nothing. There can be like, 1 day of the week RNG, rest Risk Devo. But i do believe it will regularly fill, they did when RNG hosted and that wasn't that long ago.

Posts were deleted because most of the content were personal attacks, irrelevant, and non-constructive to the topic.

So keep Risk Devo autohosted and private host the RNG map urself with our bots when you wanna play it. I dont see why we should split the small risk community.

Well, here we are again, @Ent staff, don't you think there would be more complaints about 'RNG' not being hosted if it was more populair?
I have played both RNG and Risk Devo, risk devo is the higher skilled game with better/more competition, meanwhile RNG was/is a side-version of Risk devo who maybe 1/10 prefers over risk devo. Risk devo has had it own clans since 05, meanwhile RNG had a clan once, who was very inactive, there is no real community there, and the only reason most players played RNG was cause it had a official ranking site, the newest RNG versions are pretty close to usual devo but with RNG units, sure it's a decent mix, but it's like i said maybe 1/10 if even that who prefers that map, and fyi the small risk community is still active, so if you would take away the autohost on devo, they would just get a bot up autohosting devo(i believe they have some bots) but they rather not split up the small community that's left.

Seems like devo is the much preferred map.

Priv host RNG if you want to enjoy it at time.
