Hello,
i'd like to propose a rule for the game Risk Devolution against preteaming. They have been a few ban requests for this already, but due to lack of rules they have been handled differently e.g.

I took the liberty to copy the following description of preteaming from another site, which could be used as rule:
--
Entering a game with another player with the intent to help or benefit each other in anyway shape or form. The act of revealing each others identity to each other in game in itself is an act of pre-teaming as it will affect your game play and unbalances the game. Risk is a 12 player free for all, by creating teams you are corrupting the game for everyone involved regardless of the extent of your pre-teaming.
--
I hope you'll consider this, its just no fun to play against preteamers, as there is practicly no way to win against 2 or more half decent preteamers.

Re: Risk Devolution rule for Preteaming
Not too sure if we need a specific set of rules for risk devo or few other games.
I cannot stop friends playing together. But, I do ban for preteaming, only in cases where preteaming is obvious. I do understand there is a clear advantage if two people decide to team up since the beginning of the game. There are general rules such as "The use of any utility that gives you an unfair advantage over other players will result in a permanent ban" or "Ghosting is not allowed: Do not leak information to your enemies/opponents." which applies in this case.
I will re-evaluate the brq later.

Preteaming is "unfair" in any game--stack a steam in Dota, LTD, ID, etc. and its "unfair" for others. Are we going to ban for stacking in other games now too? Obviously preteaming isn't a utility, nor is it ghosting if you ally your opponents.

Yes, there is nothing wrong with playing with friends, but u r missing something. Unlike the games u mentioned as comparison, risk is free for all. It is not a team oriented game. Only in cases of obvious preteaming will i ban someone. As i said, we dont really need a specific rule, but it should be judged by the mod by case.

Re: Risk Devolution rule for Preteaming
There are always choices upon discretion, and how people play we cannot tell exactly what they are thinking. If it is totally obvious then yes we will ban for it. If you know of a specific way people may "pre-team" Send me a PM and also any other rules you think see fit and I will add Risk devo its own section.
Yes Pre-teaming is probably a piss off, but too what extent does it need to be to be considered preteaming.

Re: Risk Devolution rule for Preteaming
I do not see enough risk ban request or other rules to consider making a separate game rule page for risk devo. So far, general rules look good enough to handle all if not most cases.
As I mentioned, it is perfectly fine to play with friends, but it is not fine if they obviously play as a team till the end of the game instead of temporary becoming allies for temporary individual gains. Risk devo is a free-for-all game, not a team game.
I will ban preteams that obviously play the game for each other and not for the purpose of individual winning.
