ok, so it happens a lot. someone in the very beginning of the game will shout "mid solo" or "mid" and then feel that they are entitled to go mid regardless of what anyone else says or does. then is someone else does decide to go mid you 9 times out of 10 get a little flame war going between them and it seriously ruins the game. so i feel for dota we should establish a rule of courtesy. if someone claims mid they do not automatically gain it. if there is a discrepancy where someone else wants to mid then the rule should be to roll for it and highest number wins mid. the loser then must go to side lane immediately. i know that 2-1-2 isnt the ONLY way to play dota but in todays community this is the norm. if however someone wants to 2 mid thats fine im not saying to ban that. but im saying if there is a discrepancy then this should be the way to solve it quick and simple. i know someone else does this im not sure if its bgn or dc or ghost idr.

Do not allow someone to mass healing pots to give to an ally so they can sell it for money. IMO this is the same as trying to trade resources. which ice frog does NOT want happening. which is why you cant give most items except healing pots and mana pots and tangos. either way i feel this is abusing what was not intended for the game.

You're saying that if the 2 people are arguing and neither one backs down or lets the other guy have it, then they must use -roll command? But how can you enforce people to do that? Then there shall be a punishment if you don't roll? How harsh punishment? Ban? Warning? What if the guy who loses the roll still refuses? Then a ban? This seems a like a lot of effort for just the "fact of life" in the game...

unfortunately almost always the case is that when these 2 guys bicker over who gets solo, they're both assholes in the first place (selfish arrogant "i'm the pro" type who thinks he knows best and plays best and must have solo or otherwise he will grief, flame, troll, even ragequit, feed etc etc) So usually the more mature guy concedes "ok fine whatever nub, have solo" and says in All chat "wow fucker teal demand solo and refuse to leave, watch him die FB and feed" and sure enough the guy demanding solo sucks and feeds, well that's just the way it is, DotA is full of these people because it draws in that type of personality

on the other hand maybe the guy really is super pro and you let him solo and he ends up raping and carries the team for the win, so maybe you made a bad mistake by arguing with him and thinking you deserved solo more

anyway, again I totally understand where you're coming from and I hate having it happen in game (seriously fun ruiner and usually game ruiner when people start arguing about solo)

but then really the entire game is about being selfish vs. being team player, some people just don't get it. 90% of the time someone wants to jungle, other guy keeps stealing neuts or not sharing or killing the wolf the guy looks for (this happens to me all the time: "please wolf for me if you see it" and they never do, i even watch the other guy with devour get a wolf and go back to jungle and wolf spawns again and I see it and ping "wolf for me please" but he kills it anyway "lol nub who cares, get over it" is the response

or you "call" top or bot and someone else goes anyway, or even teleports down there....cool, thanks a lot dude....

I think for a rule system that allows quite some bullshit like FFing, you're in the wrong place to try asking for punishment on people arguing over solo

Why roll? Why not first person to call mid or first person to go to mid?

This isn't an issue. 80% of the time, the person who calls mid first is the one who gets it. There's honestly not a whole lot that we can do about the remaining 20%.

because there is no rule either way edge. yeah we can say whoever calls first gets it but thats not a rule. so when i call mid and some noob wants to come mid there is no resolution. its either i let the noob solo mid and ruin game. or i stay mid with him and ruin game.
and @dust its not normally an issue no. but sometimes issues arise. like maphacking isnt always an issue, but when it happens you want to get them banned. or a better example. intentional feeding doesnt happen 80% of the time. but for the 20% of the time i want to be able to ban them for feeding on purpose.

player with best stats should have priority to players with worse stats imo

I don't think rolling is a suitable solution.

Another problem due to lack of matchmaking system. It is due to the big gap of player level difference.

If you call mid, I think you are entitled to play it.

If another person calls it and u refute but you are not convincing...that is an "flaming war" u have created.

I know its gay when mid kinda feeds or does reallly really bad. The main team problem happens when the fat enemy mid starts ganking. There are ways to retaliate.

"Carry" your team and voila!

note: I did not understand why you provided the pots. Is this another example? or another suggestion? Yes team selling pots can be kinda abusing, but new 6.79 update will prevent that.

Agreed with nabo. Virus, in the situation you referenced that noob who wanted solo should have let you because you called first.

Mid lane is hope of team , so if the mid fails the team fails like 70% unless the other lanes get fed Alot .
Rolling is not good idea it is fair between two good player's but not between pro and Noob who's k.d is 2.9 per game. it's always Noobs who just rush mid

Lol, that "who's mid" issue always gets on my nerves on the point that i haven't rly played mid on ent. And the last time i went mid with dusa a "pro high elo" ogre followed me and was messing with my farming because he thought that "medusa was gonna feed mid cuz shes a terrible hero and i had no stats" (cuz I was on new acc lmfao). That dragged the game 60 min untill i had the farm i needed to carry my team, at the point where ogre had like one kill, seven deaths, and no assists or wards and i was 10-3, so he ignored me and never followed team cuz he was butthurt. So imo, the first one that called mid, or went there should actually get mid regardless of his elo and stop acting like kids comparing who's dk is longer.

i dont see why rolling wouldnt be a good solution. there is no other way 2 players can resolve it in a fair manner. just because you think you're better than me doesnt mean you deserve mid over me. i could be on a smurf acct or you could just be wrong lol. but all of this is nice to say. but we dont have any rule to govern this situation.
we can all agree that when there is conflict mid, given that mid is 9/10 solo, it ruins a game when 2 people are fighting about mid and one wont leave. so what can we do? make it a rule to roll for mid if there is conflict and highest roll wins. simple solution to a stupid problem. if not what else can you do?
