Exactly what iight is saying, the rule states if you leave and leak, you get banned.

Hence my suggestion of a rule change, so that if you leak, and a HEAL is needed to save the king, you get banned.

The only Mod who ever enforced this rule, that I have seen was Bit.
It does not matter if they are new or not, the truth is leaving in general, not even on a big leak or with a needed heal is hard to prove as pre-meditated. Unless the player specifically states that they are leaving to ruin the game by not healing or something other, there is no reason to ban them. They can just appeal with some reason like "power went out" "My ISP crashed". I get the community input but this should be in Admin section IMO.

You are all forgetting the main point of it. It is to prevent people from rage quitting when their heals could or could not save the king. The wording works just fine.

I enforce this rule myself. The rule generally applies when leaks are to the king and they leave without using their heal. That is why this rule is here.

I understand what Matdas is saying --> If someone leaks and then quits the game during that level; it is a clear indication of a rage quit.

(However, they can just wait 10 seconds and quit on the next level. Still a rage quit but wont run the risk of being banned for it (except autoban))

Hence why I do not agree with this rule...

The bottom line is that if someone leaves while still possessing a heal then it is really a game ruining offense. Why do we treat cases different if they leave on lvl 2 or 7 or during a leak or before a leak or after a leak? Still the same action - left without using a heal. Cripples your team. Game ruining.

IMO - we should 1. ban all leavers who still possess a heal or 2. let autoban do the work

This stipulation of only being banned if you "leave during the level that you leak" really doesn't make sense to me except that it is a clearer indication of a rage quit.

Edit: grammar

How is a mod going to tell the difference between a rage quit/plug puller or genuine drop? Honestly I know after reviewing a game and watching two players bicker back and forth most of us can tell when the one player leaks and leaves, its probably a rage quit. But so a mod bans him, he can come back with excuses and if its his first time, who are you to deny his appeal? Let auto-ban do its thing and unless they troll their allies before leaving there is nothing we can do. Just when Mods do appeals pray they actually check aliases and stay percentages and not just go on a stay percentage of a single account.

Do you know why people there are less leavers leaving with a heal? Because of this rule...

Honestly Mat, I get where your coming from. But I have heard way more players in game try to get someone to kick them because they wanted to leave but they did not want to lower their stay percentage than players who were just asking to heal first so they could leave after.

I just meant that players fear a low stay percentage because they know they will be banned by autoban. Instead of mod banning them for having a heal and leaving.

To me, a high % stay rate player who knows his heal can make a difference leaving is TK, and can be punishable under that. To end a game for his team because his team leaked a lot is same TK as any other.

So does anyone else have any concerns with this rule change? I see a lot if support.

This rule should be removed asap. If people are calling this TK there are much worse offences like leaving in cross.
Ultimately if a player wants to leave autoban should handle them, it has always been like that.

Matdas has already said why this rule is there, and I believe It should stay here just with a change.

If people actually reported for this rule seriously - I can see a lot of complaints. Considering not healing is not specifically considered a rule break then I'm not sure why leaving would be considered a rule break.

I still think the rule should be removed altogether. But if that's out of discussion I support the suggested change of the rule. Not healing is no rule break and leaving is handled by autoban, dunno why this should be handled differently if it's combined.
