Host Risk Devolution 2.8

Postby DTox2k » Sat Jul 20, 2013 8:06 am

Hello all,

since the RNG-Bots seem to be down and not coming back anytime soon, i would like to ask you to consider hosting Risk Devolution 2.8. The differences between this map and the Risk Devo 2.3b you are hosting now basicly are some unit changes, the possibility to vote different unit sets and certain game options as well as some terrain changes.

If you don't want to always host both maps (which could make sense, as i'm unfortunatly not sure if there are really enough players to fill 2 risk games simultaniously in a decent amount of time), i would still ask you to do it at least for a few weeks to look what map is being played more and than decide, which one you will be hosting.

Thank you for considering this suggestion!

Cheers
DTox

Risk devo 2.3 gets hosted a bit more than devo 2.8, with that said devo 2.8 have G-arena players whos filling up 7/10 spots meanwhile 2.3 is pure wc3 players, if ents choose to host both versions its fine by me since devo2.3 is more populair, and devo2.8 will fail without garena, but if you only choose to host one you should host 2.3
Also even Psycomarauder admitted that devo 2.3 hosts more than 2.8, the diffrence between these 2 games is that devo2.3 is more skilled and harder to learn, 2.8 is just a fun-version that psyco made a lot easier for 'noobs'

I honestly think that Clan ENT should host Risk devo 2.3 and RISKNEXTGEN the real risk game that psycomarauder made some years ago, instead of this fail attempt riskdevo2.8

well i have another oppinion there, i think the new version offers more gameplay-options through new spells and especially sea-fights are way more interesting, as it is not all only about SS like in Devo 2.3b. But i don't want to start a discussion about what map is "better", it will never end and its mostly a question of personal preferences anyway.
Also i honestly can't say which version is really the more popular one, that's why i suggested you try to host both versions for a certain time, than the numbers will tell.

Psyco already said that 2.3 hosted more than 2.8 even when 2.8 had a lot of garena players, but if ent wants they can host both, dont you guys prefere the real risknextgen over devo2.8?

maybe he changed his mind since than, but 1 month ago psyco said the opposite here in this forum.
Personally i don't prefere risknextgen to devo 2.8, because i feel like there is more sitting around in that map because of easily defendable continents.

He said that because he hadn't hosted riskdevo2.3 for a longer time, people barely knew what the game name was at that point, around 2 weeks ago he said that riskdevo2.3 was hosted a bit more per day, not that much but more, even tho riskdevo 2.8 have mostly garena players

I don't know if thats correct or not, but even if it was, it would still make sense to give the Devo 2.8 map a try on the ENT-Page, as it may bring new players to it who never found their way to the RNG-Community and therefor simply don't know the 2.8-Version. So many players don't even look at the WC3-Gamelist anymore, as there are so many other ways to find your games that are more comfortable.

Attach the map, or upload it to ENT Link and post the load code.

Thanks a lot! :-)
I attached the map, unfortunatly i have no idea about hosting and therefor also don't have the hostcode. I will ask in the RNG-Community for it, but i'm not sure if i will get it, so i hope u might be able to host it without too.

I never said 2.3b is more popular, because it simply isnt.

Actually all that happened was I was on vacation for 5 days and my bots went down on the europe server due to some strange bug, and on a mac laptop I couldnt access the server properly.I would ask that you once again allow me to host the risk devo maps.

When both maps are running regularly, devo 2.3 gets about 40 games per day, 2.8 gets about 90 games per day. Things have been messed up with the changes lately, but just look on risknextgen.com game history a month ago for proof. Anyway, would like to know what you guys think, because unless I have this strange europe dropping bug again, I would like to be able to host the maps.

Kungen, please stop lying, 2.8 has more daily games... the stuff you say is really incredible sometimes.

Im lying psyco? this is enough really, you said urself riskdevo2.3 hosts a bit more for some weeks ago when i asked. u got some mental problems, idk if ur just trying to make me look bad at these forums, but we both know you and i that u told me that stuff i wrote earlier, and now ur saying im lying simply cause u want them to host ur version instead? its okay i understand u do everything to get ur game hosted, but i've had enough of ur bullshit
