Can you dumb down how to download. I must be doing something wrong because it's not letting me download. Step-by-step process would be great.

Well, you can type /w Clan.Enterprise !g download and join the DotA download game instead of downloading from website.
For the getdota link, download the map and then move it to your C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Maps\Download directory (or sometimes Program Files (x86)).
Edit: and make sure Javascript is enabled if you disable it.
