Petition to remove the optional -arem mode

Under normal circumstances, this mode is ideal.

But there are too many players who only pick a subset of heroes and anything out of that group, their brains begin to melt.

There is no reason for this mode to exist when 5/10 players in the game can't even play more than 2 different heroes. Seems ridiculous that everyone is stuck in an inevitable low quality game.

Lobbies take 30 minutes to start at times. It's impossible for anyone to stay in the lobby paying attention to what 3-4 people in a lobby changing the mode at the last few seconds decide.

If players want to random, they can do it on their own. But almost every game that turns into AREM is low quality filled with feeders.

I believe the current requirement—where only 3 out of 10 players need to select "arem mode" to trigger it—is problematic. It often leads to situations where the majority of players, who may not want this mode or are AFK (often waiting over 30 minutes for the game to start and using that time to make a cup of tea or do other tasks while waiting), suddenly find the game has started in "arem mode." As a result, they are forced to play a mode they did not choose or were unaware of, going against their preference once the game begins.

A fairer approach would be to require either a minimum of 50% of the players or at least 5 players to trigger a change from the default apem mode to any other mode. This ensures a more balanced and representative decision, reflecting the true preferences of the group.

Additionally, players who prefer a random selection can still freely type "random" when the game starts if they wish to opt for "arem mode." While there may not be a perfect one-size-fits-all solution, I firmly believe that allowing only 3 players to override the majority is insufficient and unfair.

Only 3 people are needed to trigger -arem? Yeah, that seems a little too sparse of a requirement..

I think it should be minimum 6 which would be the majority.
When AREM was autohosted, no one ever joined.

The majority prefer APEM so it should take a majority to override the mode.

Due to unfortunate circumstances with the hard coding of the bots, it is currently not possible to alter the player minimum nor outright remove the option of -arem.
