unban appeal

Postby john_wayne » Sat Feb 03, 2018 4:07 pm

Your Warcraft III username:
john_wayne
Realm/Gateway:
USeast
Why are you banned:
Not kicking visible ruiner
Why you should be unbanned:
Can't tell whether or not someone is a "visible ruiner" due to fog of war. Didn't see any purposeful leaks or solo sends. I have no reason to believe a single person who starts to spam chat.

@falenga

Hello john_wayne,

please link us the general rules and the game specific rules of the game(s) you got banned in, and highlight the specific rule(s) you believe you violated.
You can find them on our wiki.

That way, we can ensure another rule-violation by you, caused by not-knowing the rules, will not happen again. After linking us to the rules, we expect you to have read them. Cooperating with us will have a positive effect on your ban duration.

The rules wiki for general, and the map I was playing (Hellhalt).
http://wiki.entgaming.net/index.php?tit ... ming:Rules
http://wiki.entgaming.net/index.php?tit ... g:LTDRules

I see a rule that says I cannot ruin a game for my team my one of the many options listed. However, I did not break any of those rules and the reason for my ban is at best remotely related to the rule "do not ruin the game on purpose".

If I enter a game hosted by one of your bots, I was banned for "not kicking a visible ruiner." Since there is no rule that obligates me to type !yes on either of the pages. If my memory suits me, I had no way of knowing this was the case since the person did not look like they were purposely sending or solo sending most of the game. I had no way to know that the player was actually of this status.

See, I'm banned for violating a "rule" that is not listed one either of the pages. If this is a rule that is supposed to be there, please list it in the wiki and unban me and I'll try to adhere to it.

It seems that I was banned arbitrarily in this since the rule is not listed case.
Here are all the rules from the general portion.

Do not spam during games (chat, ping, etc.).
Do not flame, rage, troll, or insult other players excessively.
Do not leave before the game has certainly ended, especially if no other player has left.
Do not delay a game from starting by joining/leaving multiple times or otherwise.
Do not lie about modes. If you intend to choose a non-default mode or if there is no known default mode, announce the mode in lobby or vote ingame/in lobby.
Do not deceive players about rules in an attempt to get them banned/to force them to do something they are not obligated to. For example, telling users to draw or they would get banned is deceiving as drawing is a mere vote and not mandatory.
Any form of votekick and !ff abuse.
Do not ruin the game on purpose:

Do not teamkill (ex. blocking, maliciously using spells, destroying/hiding/stealing/massing items, selling towers, etc).
Do not go away from keyboard for an excessive amount of time, especially without telling other players beforehand, and/or refuse to play the game in an attempt to ruin it. Neither are you allowed to grief by resetting the afk timer.
Do not feed or suicide on purpose which negatively affects the game.
Do not pause the game while playing in order to distract players and hinder gameplay. Do not save the game.
Do not ghost by leaking information to your enemies/opponents.
Do not purposely glitch or exploit the game.
If teammates shared control, do not abuse it.

Do not dodge your bans. Dodging is defined as playing on a different account while being banned on another account, often by a (purposely triggered) change of the IP. Dodging is considered a major offense equal to maphacking.
The use of any utility that hides your real IP (proxies/vpns, etc.).
The use of any utility (FCD, maphack, stream sniping, etc.) that gives you an unfair advantage over other players will result in a heavy ban.
Do not multibox. Using two computers/two accounts to be in one (and the same) game as one human being is not allowed.
Do not impersonate any Enterprise Gaming authority (be it a staff member or our bot).
Do not threat or mock community members and do not ddos or dox them.
Account policy: Even though Blizzard has allowed usage of color and symbols in accounts as of 2017/02, using any accounts with color (black, white, etc.) and/or symbols (and/or a combination of symbols) which are difficult to read (|, spaces, etc.) are subject to ban by ENT's discretion.

None of which are the reason I was banned.

Here are the Hellhalt rules.

When using a mode other than the default one, the mode setter (red) has to announce it in the lobby before the game starts. Every player must be informed, so they have the opportunity to leave in case of dislike.
The default mode is: -hpac prophet or -paac.
Refusing/Avoiding to heal.
Refusing to cooperate by sending alone and not save-send with teammates to win.
Refusing to build in attempt to teamkill.
Do not build close to your teammate without consent to steal kills.
Do not juggle the king preventing him from attacking or killing units.
Do not change the king's target to delay killing, except to efficiently kill multiple targets or kill higher priority targets such as sent units or low hp units. Range stomping and backward waving is allowed.
Intentionally leaving after sending to give an advantage to your team is bannable.

None of which are the reason I was banned.

WHEN I CLICK ON A GAME IN BATTLENET IT SAYS THAT I WAS BANNED FOR "NOT KICKING AN OBVIOUS RUINER." THERE IS NO RULE REQUIRING I TYPE !YES

@john_wayne

You will need to navigate to the separate votekick rule page for you to be able to see what rule you've broken.
On the homepage of our wiki is a link, and there is also a link on our general rules page also.

It'll save you some time in the future if you provide the links to the rules pages immediately instead of posting a paragraph asking people to look at your wiki.

Also, in the future, please try to respond to make a response post in less than 8 hours. I might as well have not posted on this website and looked up the wiki and waited an extra day since it seems to take that long to get a reply.

@john_wayne

I'll make this rule easy enough for you to find with regards to spamming our forum.

Code: Select all

Do not double post (exception: if your last post is at least a week old or both posts in question are relatively long); instead, use the edit feature.

Do not spam on the forum or you will receive a warning and/or ban.

Please refrain from spamming the forum, and use the pencil icon to edit your original post/reply should you wish to add anything.

The general idea of us requesting the user to visit our wiki and to find the rules, is so we know the user put in the effort. The wiki link is posted at the top of every page on our forum, and the links to our rules are well laid out when you arrive on the wiki home page.

I'll also reiterate the request made earlier, please highlight (copy-paste) the specific rule(s) you believe you violated.

That way, we can ensure another rule-violation by you, caused by not-knowing the rules, will not happen again. After linking us to the rules, we expect you to have read them. Cooperating with us will have a positive effect on your ban duration.

I won't be using this forum again, let alone play this stupid game you and your fellow admins want to play. I referred to the rule before. Read the posts.
