Satyr should not have speed poke

Making speed poke cost 90 gold was a step in the right direction, although I don't think speed poke can remain at all without damaging the game. I have played the current version about 20 games so far, most of which I have played satyr (about 15 games), and out of these games I have gotten to 5000 total gold twice. One of these games resulted in me basing as satyr, as the only base remaining. . . this base consisted of about 25 ulti towers which held against a lvl 14 titan with many minis. The point I'm trying to make is that satyr is not meant to be a game carrier for the builders, and as long as speed poke is around in any form then sat can be the difference between winning and losing too easily.

Also ring of shadows allows satyr to remain invisible while speed poking, I'm guessing this wasn't meant to be. @neco

Speed poke was never a problem in 309d. You just need to vs better titans mate. Not saying Satyr isn't a very good builder, he's very good even in in-houses to annoy the titan and re-walling or lumber feeding, he just isn't OP and doesn't need a nerf.

Both games I passed 5k gold was vs a titan in BTI.

Legit cost Titan like 50 gold to counter your 280+g strategy.

Speedpoke is fine imo, the combination with the ring is broken.

Ring of Shadows has always made Satyr invis while poking.

To be honest, whilst it could be a problem, I don't think now is the time to discuss it or comment on it due to it only just coming back and people still need time to get used to playing against satyr's again.

Personally I'm not a fan of Satyr and think he needs to be way more support orientated than he is and speed poking in my opinion is a "cheap" method of bug abusing. Might be better to simply give satyr an upgrade that increases the gold yielded from attacks rather than the speed poke upgrade but it's too soon to list him as "OP" or "carry".

Actually did you guys forget about the op crit of 2k that's enough to call a game. I say he's op either way even with 100 gold.

Work it out after damage reductions and you'll see it's really not that much.

  • Not all BTI players play titan, that's why there is a peon/grunt status.
  • All builders are OP with "even" 100 gold.
  • Ring of shadows is luxury, you'll need at least 285G.
  • We don't need to nerf something that is so easily countered. Speed poke should be cheaper, because it is not that useful in the first place.
  • In in-houses, sats shouldn't even be poking until he gets tanky. Satyrs should be poking only for wood, and annoying titan by golding at mound so that
  • he needs to camp a minion at mound even in the late game.
  • The best thing about Satyr in 4.x.x is sixth sense being basically a maphack when it's not bugged, making him impossible to kill - not speed poking.
  • Don't nerf something fun just because you can abuse it on noob titans. This is why I was against the toxic split nerf and Tauren fort. armour nerf. It's what makes the game not a lumber gold resource fest, we need to encourage players playing more risky and giving them more reward for it, else ID will become a monotonous game.

Granted, I haven't played the most recent Satyr, so I can only comment about 309d Satyr and the old 4.x.x, assuming it hasn't changed that much in the most recent update.

You are very persistent on the titan in question being a "noob", I'm not gonna name and shame the guy but I will say that he is one of the better active titans in bti.

Let's see if you can get 5k gold as Satyr against me in any sort of competitive environment and then talk. Just because you got fed in one game doesn't mean it's OP. I'm sure other players with like 100+ or 500+ Satyr games could give their personal opinions. How many have you played?

I sure I have played a few hundred 309d satyr games that is why I thought satyr shouldn't come back to island defense; this community seems to have a passion for trying to balance a game that is nearly impossible to balance. . . that is why I thought bringing back a builder as unique as satyr couldn't help with this "balancing war."

Also I don't think you should hold yourself as the baseline of titan skill, after all you are basically an infamous player that probably is in the top 5 most played games for any player.

Never seen you in any of my 309d or 306e games, what name did you play as?

I can use myself as a baseline for titan skill, because I'm 100% positive that you won't be able to get 5k gold as Sat against me. Overfed sats should not happen in any grunt in-house game, let alone against anyone competent at titan, is my point.
