Channel Clan Lihl issues

Postby willie64 » Wed Jun 19, 2013 7:37 am

Hey, it looks like our clan.lihl channel is being flooded with bots. I cannot even join via gproxy ill end up in channel the void and via ingame i see dozens of bots spamming automatic generated text. Anything we could do about that?

We will need to ask @uakf.b if our LIHL bots are in there, maybe he can !ban the bots that are filling our channel? Other than that, I'm not sure what we can do about it at the moment. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

They spam the lyrics to Linkin Park - Iridescent :P

Maybe we can make the channel restricted for the time being.. Those who are not in clan lihl can /w ent.lihl !sign??

Hope you guys will work it out ;)

Currently the chat is empty. Perhaps it was a one-time "attack"

It's not really possible to ban a flood, because you can only send !ban every five seconds or so to avoid getting disconnected by Battle.net, and flooders may have hundreds of CD keys and proxies.

The bots are supposed to migrate to a different channel when a flood is detected, it looks like this didn't work properly because of the wrong queue plugin. It should work in the future (it also sends message to all active players about the new channel). Also use !lihldefend after the flood is over to return bots to the original channel.

the bot "ent.lihl" did go to a different channel which we joined after the whisper so we could play :) We just didn't get the normal chat from the bots back (like: currently signed: a, b, c). But that was no prob, just /whois ent26 when we had enough :) Ur protection vs flooders worked pretty fine :D
