Carries
I often see that people's opinions of what heros are and are not carries varies a lot. Lets see if we can build a consensus list of the best carries, and maybe even rank them...Ill start by providing a five carries that come to mind quickly. If this already has been covered, a link to that thread would be just as good for me.

Best carries in pub games:
Legion Commander
Ursa Warrior
Barathrum
Rikimaru
Phantom Lancer
No one knows how to beat invis heroes in public games, and that diffusal on Phantom Lancer is soooooo good.
Roshan very rarely gets warded, leaving it free for ursa with vlads, making him good.
People often go out farming alone, so Bara is great at taking out single enemies.
Legion Commander is really really hard to stop when he starts to get farmed, because of the +10 permanent damage for Duel. A good legion can get 50+ damage this way by the end of a game in pubs.

life stealer and slark are no where near top 5.
and isn't a carry a hero that "CARRIES" the team to victory? of course you'll have a better shot at that with a fully farmed PL with but that doesnt mean that you can't carry with any other hero. if your a pugna and win your lane, proceed to push all three towers and rax by yourself... by definition your carrying your team hard (and the other team are idiots). anyone can carry, whether they intended to or not. If you can point the cause of victory to one hero, that person "carried".
in all honesty naga is op if you understand her ult. its no suprise they nerfed her two versions ago.
if your just looking for a list of what heroes you want to use gkgough, the heroes picked in pubs are picked for a reason
bara: people dont have map awareness or game sense to guess when charges are coming. people also like to run solo all the time leaving them open to 1v1 with bara.
drow: because she gets a huge boost at lvl 6 and pubs like to start owning early.
pl: because he has an invis (which pubs do not counter enough) to escape and destroys everything in late game
huskar: because rarely people understand that huskar should be burst down at below 40% health (not from full hp leaving him at 20% hp). people also don't pick burst damage type heroes (lina, lion etc)

ur missing a lot of legit carries like tinker troll necro morph weaver etc etc
its all situational. thats why a pick and ban phase in cm mode dota usually takes some time. and thats also why carry's are usually picked 4th or 5th in cm mode. because if carrys are picked 1st, they get countered so easily by the opponents.
