At the 27:50 in game time mark or so, I (riki) attacked sniper in a group battle and I use my dust so he won't escape. He (sniper) pops lothars and goes invisible after I used my dust. How was my dust removed? Was this a bug? Is there a mechanic I don't know about?

As you can see from the hero make-up of the teams, it's blowing my mind how it was removed.

I didnt watch the replay, but there could be few reasons for this to happen.

-manta
-Dispel from brewmaster's storm.
-purge with sa' diffusal.

Edit: It seems the dust lasted long enough for sniper's allies like lycan and vs, but cancelled for sniper. Maybe a bug due to too many auras present or after sniper got bashed.
