It's been quite a while since I don't play Island Defense.
Not because I don't like it anymore, is just that WC3, in all its greatness, is getting affected by his 14 years of old.
So...
I remember that 1 year and a half ago use ShadowzZ said that he has Island Defense Standalone on the works.
Is that a thing? or just a dream?

I get asked that a lot ironically. It takes a long time to make a game when you're working with a small group of people or on your own. Expecting something to be done in 1-2 years with such a small team is just unrealistic.
Blizzard has a team of 500 + people working on the tiny Nova campaign missions and still fails to release on the dates they set with 9 months+ to work on them. Making a game takes A LOT of time and that time is also split with university and other things...
I refuse to release some dog shit Indie game that looks like it was made in someones basement over a 3 week period. So it will come eventually, but not anytime this year.
I don't ever show things to the community here at all but just for you Run, here's some old pics of syphs head (unfinished, untextured, can't really show you more tbh, bottom jaw is missing because it's unique to each head, same goes with horns, flails and "pokey" details, pre UV wrap, pre normal mapping): http://imgur.com/a/QRHKE

And you know there is a difference of timing when something that is being done professionally i.e Blizzard making a game vs Shadow making a game.

Yes... the difference is that Blizzard has more professionals making the game, meaning they can do things faster (since they are professional and they got more work power). If ShadowZz is making a game, it does not necessarily mean there would be a difference in the quality.

What I mean by that is exactly what Remixer said. I'm not saying you're shit I'm saying companies like Blizzard have a better work force and financial power to work with.

@Dehumanchum Oh, that's what I was trying to get across and have been for a good year or so. When you're working with a smaller team it takes a lot longer to do things to the correct standard. I had a conversation a while back about how IDS could probably have a working Alpha within a year but it would literally look like dog shit and the mechanics would be clunky as fuck.
