Since I'm an Orc player, one of the things I researched was the Blademaster's Wind Walk. I had seen pros break units out of surrounds using it, and I saw a pro item jump into a blocked Night Elf base in a tournament.
So I wanted to find out exactly how it worked and I concluded that it can only be performed on what I call 1x1 corner blocks. That's where the buildings are diagonally one tile apart. If they are not apart by at least 1 tile on both the X and Y-Axis, then they are either touching at the corners, or are apart by 1 tile on one axis and 0 tiles on the other. And those, from my experiments, cannot be jumped.
Recently however, someone told me that it can also be done on other blocks. Also, I tried to item jump here (see below) but failed. And that looks like a 1x1 corner block. I even tried dropping two items to no avail.
Replay is attached if you want to see how I tried to item jump it. It was past 4:00, maybe around 4:30. (As in the screenshot the replay timer is at 5:30).
Could an expert once and for all clear up the mystery that is item jumping?
And before you talk about Burn's tutorial, yes I watched the video. And the highlights video about Pirate being blocked from seed. And I read Lynx-'s guide which also mentioned item jumping.
